The first picture was taken aAt Eric's cousin's wedding in May. The first Indian wedding for babies and parents alike, and so much fun. The picture of Eric and the girls on the porch is one of my favorite photographs. Silly Sunday afternoon after church. . . silly girls. The cute japanese dresses are from my old roomate's mom. Thanks Anne! And the black eyes and skinned faces came from a jogging stroller incident. First trip back to the hospital since the girls were born. I can't really say I've missed the place. . . or that their prices have become more reasonable in the 9 months since. But $300 is the going rate to know that no one has brain damage. . . so we forked it over! You can tell from the photos that the girls were really shaken up. . . and saddened by all the attention that they were getting!Monday, October 19, 2009
Some Summer Fun (in October)

You can tell from the photos that the girls were really shaken up. . . and saddened by all the attention that they were getting!so its been 5 months . . . so sue me!
Obviously, a lot has happened and changed in 5 months. I could make a list. . . sitting, crawling, walking, trips to the lake, learning to swim (float in a doughnut), teeth, trips to the emergency room, birthdays, lots of trouble, the advent of shoes and piggytails and candy corn. . . etc. etc. But the pictures show it all better. Enjoy!

how to tell the girls apart

A lot of people ask us how we tell the girls apart. There's no really easy way, they are just subtly different. Its easier when they smile, because they have different smiles, and its a lot harder when they're all bundled up in hats, jackets etc. Its also really hard to tell using photographs. They just look different in reality. Having disclaimer-ed my explanation thoroughly, here goes. I posted these two pictures because they are the same, but each is a different kid. I know it seems like a trick, it's really the same kid, right? Maya has the pacifier, she wouldn't sit still in the hat without it. She has slightly rounder eyes and they're a little bit wider-set. Sophie has more almond-shaped eyes and this smile and mouth is a signature Sophie look. Its hard to tell with the hats, but Sophie has a rounder shaped head and broader forehead. They have slightly different cheekbones, but I'm not sure how. That's all I can think of. If you think I'm making it all up, you could be right. I mean, they are twins aren't they?
